Weekly schedule
Below you’ll find the schedules for Spring 2026. There are two schedule periods (January–February and March–June), as well as four weeks with a different timetable – the intro and outro weeks, project week, and the study trip. The schedule consists of subject blocks, where you choose your personal combination of subjects, along with shared sessions that everyone participates in. You can read more about all of this further down the page.
Subject blocks
In the blue, red, yellow, green, and purple blocks, you can choose between three different subjects. Some subjects take place twice a week, while others meet once a week. Before you start at the folk high school, you’ll choose your subjects for the first period. Later, you’ll select the subjects for the second period. You can read about all the subjects and teachers here.
Common classes
The orange blocks are shared sessions that all students take part in. The morning assemblies give the day a common start with singing and presentations from students or teachers. During the folk high school evenings, we open our doors to the local community and invite everyone to song nights, concerts, theatre performances, lectures, debates, and other cultural events that broaden horizons and build bridges across differences. You can read about Body here and Existence here.
Living group
Once a week, there is a living group meeting (pink block). A living group is a group of students assigned to a teacher, focusing on social well-being and practical tasks. Here, we come together around the small community within the larger community.
Project week
During the spring semester 2026, a project week takes place in week 9, from February 23–27. During the project week, you choose a specific track that you follow throughout the week. This gives you the opportunity to immerse yourself in a subject you haven’t chosen in your regular schedule — or to dive even deeper into the areas you already study in your everyday classes. We promise there will be tracks to suit every interest.
Note: During the autumn semester, there is no project week.
Study trip
The study trip is a week where we take the folk high school out of its usual surroundings to experience new places and people, immersing ourselves in art, nature, culture, and history. Along the way, we strengthen our community, create memories, and form bonds across groups.
The destination is always somewhere in Denmark. We take pride in visiting different regions of the country and meeting people with diverse lifestyles and worldviews. We believe that great travel experiences don’t require long journeys.
The Autumn Study Trip
In autumn, we travel to the island of Ærø. We dive into the island’s unique cultural life, meet local enthusiasts and entrepreneurs, explore coastal living, share dinners with local residents, sing sailors’ songs, swim in the South Funen Archipelago, dine aboard a ship, and go hiking through Ærø’s beautiful landscapes.

We’re brewing exciting new plans for the Spring 2025 study trip — stay tuned!
