Sewing

Do you dream of creating your own clothes from scratch and being able to repair and upcycle thrift store finds?

In this course, you’ll gain experience with the entire sewing process, from the very first stitch to a finished piece of clothing, and learn how to extend the life of garments through redesign and repair.

We start with a thorough introduction to the sewing machine and basic sewing techniques, so everyone can join in—whether you're a beginner or already have some sewing experience.

We work with basic patterns for pants, dresses, blouses, and more, and you’ll learn to adjust them to fit your body and style. Throughout the process, there is a focus on aesthetic sustainability, slow and careful craftsmanship, and on creating clothes that will last for many years.

We primarily use recycled textiles—everything from old tablecloths, bedding, and curtains to secondhand and unworn clothes from the thrift store and your own closet.
