What does the sound of West Jultland sound like? 

In the course Podcast, we set out to explore West Jutland with a recorder in hand and our ears wide open. We listen our way into the landscape, collect sounds, voices, and stories, turn our discoveries into podcasts, and finish with a shared listening session where we experience each other’s audio stories.

West Jutland is full of sounds. Wind, rain, and the sea. Birds, plants, and animals. People, machines, and conversations over garden fences. But the sound of West Jutland is also us—the people who live here, work here, or are simply passing through. All of it contributes to the story of this place.

We might seek out a neighbour, a dog walker, or a local farmer and ask them to share a childhood memory, a secret, or a meaningful experience. We might explore the debate around green energy, trace the origins of the solar panels in a nearby field, or zoom in on a single plant or a particular animal. Curiosity guides the process, and we use both the microphone and ourselves as tools along the way.

We are used to experiencing landscapes with our eyes. Here, we try something different. We explore what happens when we listen instead of look. What stories are hidden in the sounds we usually overlook? What emerges when we turn up the volume on the quiet, the unusual, and the untold?
