How much does it cost to attend the folk high school?

It costs 875 kroner a week for a 2bed share room. This includes all food, teaching and some extra activities.

What do I have to pay extra for?

You will have to pay more if you want a private room with a shower and toilet. Also some classes have material fees, where they are need, for example in the art classes. But you can take your work home with you. The Cuba tour is also an additional cost.


What’s the deal with the timetable?

It’s easy! You have 28 hours a week. 7 Hours of which are compulsory , the other 21 hours are for classes of your choosing, You can view the timetable here (It’s in Danish, but should be readable)


How old are the students?

Most of the Højskole students are between 18 and 25 years old. Vestjyllands Højskole is very welcoming to anyone though, and often 20% of students are over 25.


What about the gender mix?

Generally the school has a mix of 2/3 women and 1/3 men. Shared rooms are not of mixed sexes, but you can change once you have arrived.


When is the Cuba trip?

The study tour to Cuba is in January/February and is 2 weeks long.


Where is Vestjyllands Højskole?

Vestjyllands Højskole is situated down the road from the small town of Velling and about 7kms from the regions capital, Ringkøbing. You can view a Google map showing the location of the school here.


How do I get there?

If you don’t have a car, you can get a bus from Århus/Herning to Ringkøbing where you can get a taxi or maybe you can arrange for our school bus to come and pick you up.
