Vestjyllands Højskole is the ecological school of Denmark.

For us ecology and sustainability are natural parts of everyday life. We're not only talking about ecology, but acting by starting up projects to inspire ourselves and others.

The kitchen serves delicious organic food every day, a few straw bale houses give up the ball for a debate about more climate-friendly building materials and the wind turbine create more energy power than we use.

Our geothermal and solar heating provides water for hot showers and a nice warm climate in all the corners of the school, so everyone can read books and take hot showers with good CO2 neutral conscience.

All our cleaning products are labeled with the swan, meaning that cleaning and enviromental considerations are going hand in hand.

The Garden of Wonder is delightful to explore, and shows new inspiration to organic farming methods. Students in Ecology class help out in the garden from time to time by developing new methods, ideas, projects etc.

In 2009 we were the first school in Denmark to get the green flag for our ecological efforts. In 2008 we got Thise Dairy Environmental Award "Amber-Aage price " for our sustainable awareness.
